For trombone & piano, includes score and part. A musical tour de force based on three tones, this highly unusual work for trombone and piano was premiered by Eugene Watts at the New England Conservatory of Music in Boston, Mass. Gene later became one of the founding members of Canadian Brass. Reviews also appeared in the Brass Quarterly, V.4 No. 2 (1960). Henry's piece is a mildly dissonant, energetic and sonorous display of ingenuity, crafted as it is on only three tones and some transpositions. An exciting showcase for both trombone and piano, this new edition is bright, tuneful and vigorous with some unexpected an exciting musical directions. Duration: ca. 9'.
