Kastner, Kathleen

Kathleen Kastner is Professor of Percussion at the Wheaton College Conservatory of Music in Wheaton, IL, where she teaches all aspects of percussion, as well as world music and twentieth century music history. She received her doctorate from the University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign, under the tutelage of Thomas Siwe. In addition to being an active performer, she has been involved in the Percussive Arts Society for many years, having previously served as a member of the Board of Directors, associate editor for research of Percussive Notes, chair of the Scholarly Research Committee, PAS historian, and Illinois State Chapter President. In 2011, she was honored by Wheaton College with a Senior Teaching Achievement Award.
