One of the colorful and energetic movements from Henry's West Is West, a suite of four Western "Soundscapes" for brass quintets plus piano, Horsemen has that "American West" flavor so unique to 20th Century composers. Strongly supported by a harmonically roving ostinato, the flaring brass themes and harmonies seem to rise out of the grace and restless motion of men and horses pushing forward towards some distant goal. Symphonic in range and character, but not technically difficult. Duration: ca. 4' 40"
