For two clarinets in Bb, includes two scores. Just A Line From Chameleon was composed at the request of Houston Symphony clarinetist, Richard Nunemaker. The title is from Karlins's Chameleon, a work for harpsichord. The piece is in two parts beginning with a melody played by each clarinetist that evolves into two-part writing. The second part, played attacca, is rhythmically active and somewhat jazzy. A short, quiet "chorale" ends the piece. Chameleon is available on Music from Northwestern CD "Klecka plays Broege and Karlins." Volume 7, AUR CD 507. - Duration ca. 10 minutes
