Henry has successfully captured the humor and color of the subjects in his transcriptions. Early Bird gets the locust in this morality tale and the lazy children go hungry. You can hear baboons playing The Farmer's Drum and see the heavy workers strain in the climatic Brother, Pull Some More. The music is idiomatic and forceful, but not especially demanding.
