For orchestra, includes score and parts. Three Sketches for orchestra is a miniature symphony. Short and succinct, the three movements (fast, slow, fast) take the usual path of exposition, development and recapitulation - but all happens very quickly. The second slow section is an excellent example of consonant twelve-tone music. The rhythmic drive of the outer movements afford percussionists a chance to shine - and simple but forceful brass playing can add to the sudden dramatic conclusions.
