Kosteck, Gregory
Gregory Kosteck was born: 2 September 1937 in Plainfield, New Jersey. He studied music at the University of Maryland (B.M.) and at the University of Michigan (M.M., D.M.A.) where his composition teachers included Leslie Bassett and Ross Le Finney. He received many awards inlcuding the Woodrow Wilson National fellowship, 3 Horace Rackham fellowships, Fulbright and Ford-MENC grants; first prizes the Spoleto Festival (1965), American Guild of Organists (1969) and many commissions. He taught at Washington and Jefferson College, East Carolina University and Appalachian State University. Kosteck died: 27 December 1991
