A quartet for flute, clarinet, horn and piano, includes score and parts. Otto Henry's woodwind and piano quartet is a wistful fantasy about the weaving of an antique tapestry. Intertwining melodies in the winds symbolize the threads of the tapestry and the motion of the loom is captured in the piano as the image unfolds in time and tune towards completion. Modal and somewhat unusual for its experimental 6-tone scale, Henry's piece is graceful and radiant, a good companion piece to his Island in the Sun for the same instrumentation (Media Press). A pleasant and rewarding addition to any recital. Medium difficulty. Duration: ca. 7 minutes
