For oboe, harp and strings, includes score and parts. The 2001 revision of Lament by Roger Hannay is an extensive recomposition of a 1957 sketch. The unaccompanied solo oboe phrases have been lengthened and reshaped, a new part for harp has been added, and the harmonic content of the string orchestra greatly enriched. It may now be considered as an instrumental chanson-triste in the style of a vocalise and a companion piece to the composer's Pastorale for solo horn and strings.
