Review from Percussive Notes:
Mirrors is an 11-minute composition for percussion quartet. Each performer has three stations--one with five instruments, one with four, and one with a single mallet-keyboard instrument. Between sections each player moves to a new station in a synchronized manner. This "bit of theater" reflects the concept of the title. A detailed page of instructions provides the performer with the information required to perform the composition. Standard percussion equipment found in most college percussion departments is required. Mirrors is an excellent composition for a percussion quartet of mature performers. Its contrapuntal lines moving from one player to another will require a bit of rehearsal time to realize the musical intent. The piece will provide the audience with both aural and visual stimulation. It is published in manuscript that is quite neat but rather small.
