Chen, Chin-Chin
Chin-Chin Chen is a Taiwanese-American composer who has composed across a variety of media, from solo and chamber pieces, to electroacoustic compositions. Ms Chen’s formal university studies resulted in two Master of Music degrees – in Piano Performance and Music Theory, and a Doctoral degree in Composition/Theory, all from University of Illinois, Urbana/Champaign.
With performances and broadcasts in more than half a dozen countries, Ms Chen won first prize and an Honorable Mention in the Concoros Internazionale Luigi Russolo for the electroacoustic composition, Points of No Return, and the mixed piece, Points of Arrival for violin and fixed media. She notes among her teachers, William Brooks, John Melby and Scott Wyatt.
