For solo marimba. Peterborough Chorale by composer David Macbride is suitable for intermediate and advanced players alike. It explores both the range and rich sonority of the five octave marimba, requiring a seamless and even sound from the performer. The piece reflects the solitude of working at the MacDowell Artist Colony where it was created. Duration: ca. 4' 30"

Review from Percussive Notes:

The slow-tempo and the chordal writing of this short chorale for a five octave marimba suggest an organ-like sound. Most notes are rolled, thus making it accessible to a wide variety of marimba talents. A good command of the roll is necessary for a musical performance. “Peterborough Chorale” is a well-written composition for marimba and would be excellent for a church gig or a thoughtful moment in a marimba recital.
