David Macbride – Marimba DelCiampo
“Marimba DelCiampo” is a short, four-mallet solo, suited for an upper intermediate player. It provides a technical challenge within its short length: a good piece for a shared recital or for students who haven’t yet achieved the mental stamina to perform a long work. Much of the musical material is repeated throughout and is intuitive to hum along with. The range covers most of the keyboard, requiring the student to work on skills of reaching, turning, and moving to and from different sections of the keyboard. The piece is also available as a digital download from the publisher’s website.
