Power, Richard

Richard Power's music demonstrates his interest in new types of expression through sound. He received a Bachelor's degree in composition and performance from Trinity University, and Master's and D.M.A. degrees in composition and theory from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, where he also taught music theory and was operations assistant for the Experimental Music Studios. He currently lives in Austin, Texas, where in addition to composing he performs frequently on baritone saxophone. His music is published by Media Press and HoneyRock Publications and he has received awards for ASCAP, the Chicago Symphony Orchestra and Austin Peay State University.
